Finely Done

We are finely done cleaning out the neighbors house. Here's an update: two days after the big sale Jack passed away. (Feb 9) Two of his kids came here from out from back east, we were able to give them 1,700 dollars to help with what ever they needed. Jacks memorial was on Friday the 13th at the Veteran's memorial in Carefree. It was a nice drive out there, and the service was nice. Wednesday Nathan and I hauled the last of the items to Sunshine acres. I'm glad we could give service to the Shuttleworth family, with lots of people helping along the way.
No camera yet, soon I hope. P.S. Volleyball starts next week GO RED MOUNTAIN!!!

Starting some Projects

Last night I went to Enrichment and started two quilts. One is for Taylor's mission and the other is for Don and I when we go camping or picnicking. I'm using old T shirts and old jeans. Taylor's will be with 10" block squares and ours will be a 12" block. I'm looking forward to getting rid of all the tee shirts we have around the house. I would take a pic. but we gave our camera to the singles branch and we haven't gotten a new one yet. I have no time to shop. Other projects are starting our garden, we did buy some tomato plants, and yellow peppers the grandkids are going to help us plant them saturday. We also have seeds to plant.

Busy Day

Some of you readers might not know but today we had a HUGE estate sale at our neighbors house that live down the street and around the corner. The wife, Betty died the first of Dec. and her husband Jack is in a rest home not doing good. When the kids of Jack and Judy came for Judy's Funeral they decided not to do anything with the house and let the bank take it. Well Don and I thought it might be better if we could get some money to help with Jack's expenses. So the kids gave us a key and the work begin. At the end of Jan. we had the singles branch come over and clean and clear to get ready for the sale. Then every day this week I went over and organized each room. At 6am this morning we were over there to get the prep stuff done and we didn't stop until 2:30 when I locked to door after the last costumer. We made a bit of money for the family. Now the bank can take over and sale the place. A few cool things happened at the yard sale. 1. I had been keeping a suitcase full of bennie babies to take to the Children's hospital in Phoenix for the early born babies. Well a lady came through the house with a Children's Hospital shirt on and I asked her if she worked there and she did. So I gave her the bennie baby's, it saved me the trip. 2. Then a man from a moose lodge came buy wanting to buy men's shirts for the V.A. Hospital I said I'd give them to him because it would save me the trip. 3. Judy had saved about a 5 year supply of hotel soap and one woman wanted to buy them to send to the troops in Iraq, I was going to give them to a woman's shelter. Another saved trip. So the trip I do need to make is to the women's shelter Autumn House to drop off the tons of women's clothes that are left in the house, any one want to help?

I'm not the biggest loser

Well, I bet you're all wondering about the Curves weight loss challenge. Two weeks into the challenge I gained 3 pounds, (we had lot's of parties at our house) so the next two weeks I concentrated on losing the 3 pounds I gained. Why is it that it is so hard to lose pounds then it is to gain pounds? some one tell me please! Anyway, when I weighed in on Monday the 2nd at 4:45am, I had lost the 3 pounds, so I weigh the same as when I started 4 weeks ago. Don't feel sad for me people, weight loss and gain is my life.
Good News!!!! Nate and Amy got the bid on a cute house off signal butte. I'm so excited for them, I hope everything goes smooth with the buying process. Congrats!! They have pictures on their blog, check them out. By for now.

The BIG game

The BIG game is finely here. I want to set the record straight that I did go to all three hours of Singles branch and 1 hour of Preston ward before the BIG game . Right now I'm writing my pre-game prediction's. 2:30 pm I think it will be a fun game to watch, There will be some major plays that will affect the out come of the game. The score will be close and the Cardinals will..................................WIN by 3. Hope I'm right!............

8:20pm Well I was right about being fun to watch, and some major plays (not in our favor though) and that it would be a close game, but it just wasn't meant to be. Thanks for a great season. Now on to High school Volleyball !!!! GO RED MOUNTAIN!
