The New Year is just around the corner

Time for reflecting and setting new goals

We had a great Christmas. Kim & Max and kids spent the night. It was fun to have little children on Christmas morning again. I made breakfast for the Cluff side of the family, we missed Richard's family, they were at Disneyland. This is more then likely Taylor's last Christmas home before his mission so it was fun for him to have the kids over too and not to have a boring Christmas with just his parents. Don and I went to the movies Christmas Day. We saw "Bedtime Stories" we enjoyed it, it was a fun movie. Over the break we also saw "Seven Pounds" that was a deep movie, take a Kleenex.
This break has gone by fast, back to work for me on Monday, it should be an easy day though. Since Jon and Mal are here I'll work one hour less three days a week. I'm excited to have them in town. Hanna has grown so much. As Taylor says, she has double scoop cheeks.

The Twelveth day of Christmas

This is what we did... We went to Grandma and Pa Crandell's for some Mexican food. It was good. I really liked the Tamales and the pumpkin roll. I wish anyone who reads this a very merry Christmas, with Peace in your homes and in your hearts. Remember, "Jesus is the Reason for the Season"

The Eleventh day of Christmas

This is what we did...We delivered all the goodies to our neighbors. Don and I also went to a movie, "Seven Pounds" It was real deep, and made you think about life. I cried, I think I like comedy better. Taylor went to see the Temple lights with some old friends, Taylor Jackson and her date and Brittney Skousen who is in town. They are downstairs playing card games. I got the extra bedroom all ready for Jon and Mal, And finished up my shopping.

The Tenth Day of Christmas

This is what we did... made goodie plates for our neighbors. I made homemade truffle's, and Girl scout thin mints. Then put some store bought treats on the plate too. Taylor and Dad were at work all day so I was the only one making the treats. We have nice neighbors!

The Ninth day of Christmas

This is what we did...I went to two sacrament meetings, the branch at 10:30 and Preston ward at 11:30. The branch had a wonderful program with the choir singing and Pres. Keeling speaking. Preston had a nice service also but the best part was I got to sit by Taylor. Then It was time for the Big Crandell Christmas Party at our home. We had more then 60 people downstairs, it was crazy fun. I think we will need to go to a bigger place next year. Fun was had by all.

The Eighth Day of Christmas

This is what we did... We got a new Wii game called Party time, fitting since it is Tillman's 6Th birthday, Kim, Easton and Brinlee came over and played some of the games. It's like a Chuckie Cheese game room. Some of the games are hard to control, The birthday boy didn't come by, he chose to play at his cousin Spencers house. I've been cleaning and getting ready for the Big Crandell Christmas party at our house tomorrow. We always have fun when the Family gets together. I did find Hallie's missing glove from last years party. I hope I remember to give it back to her. 5 more days till Christmas, 10 more till the utah kids come visit!

The Seventh day of Christams

This is what we did... Erica and Chris came over to watch our new DVD "Hancock" They had not seen it before, and in between watching Evelyn get into things she shouldn't, (like the Christmas tree) I think they enjoyed the movie. Oh and we had Golden Spoon too. Shout out to my oldest grandchild TILLMAN...aka T-man Who will be turning the big "6" tomorrow. Happy Birthday! we love you!

The sixth day of Christmas

This is what we did....We were supposed to go get a holiday shake but when I got home from work about 4:30 no one was home yet so I made dinner, BLT's and a cup of hot coco, ate by myself, finished reading the newspaper, put some more ball's on the up stairs tree. At this time 6:30pm I was wondering where the boys were so I texted them and right then Don comes in the front door and said, "here I am." Taylor did not text me back but I found out he is with a group of friends for a friends birthday. Anyway by this time it's real cold outside and I'd rather have something hot not cold. So we went down stairs and I put some red ball's on the tree as Don watched. We also tried to watch the "Office" we just don't get it. Happy holiday. One more day of work left YEA!! 7 days till Christmas YEA! and 12 days until the Utah kid's come and visit YEA!

The Fifth day of Christmas

This is what we did...Amy came over and we made SUGAR & SPICED NUTS to give out to co-workers and a few church friends. Spiced nuts are one of Nate's favorite. I did make a new kind this year Sweet and Spicy, it has chili powder and cayenne. I did not like it as much as the other.
Taylor went out and did some Christmas Shopping for me so I could stay home and make nuts.

1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 tea each of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. 1/4tea salt, 2 cups nuts(any kind)
1 lg egg white. Mix the dry stuff all together, put the egg white in a lg bowl then add the nuts to it. mix to coat the nuts, then add the dry stuff to the nuts mix well. Spread the nuts in a single layer on a pan and cook for 15 min. at 350. after 15 min use metal spatula to break apart the nuts and put back in the oven for 5 more min. When done remove from pan and let cool at room temp. for about 1/2 hour. Yum! Yum!

The Forth Day of Christmas

This is what we did...we went out for dinner and then to Walmart to buy a Christmas tree.
We have the big one up stairs and no tree down stairs so we thought we should get one. Last year we had a real one for the first time in Taylor's 18 years. This year I asked him if he wanted a real one again and he didn't care one way or the other so we picked out a 5ft with lights already on it. Taylor thought it might be fun to have a blue or red tree. We voted no. Merry Christmas!

The Third day of Christmas (updated)

This is what we did....The grand kids had dinner at grandma's house and made Gingerbread houses. The grand kids house is beautiful. Brinlee decorated the front, Tillman did a side and Easton did the other side. Their mom's and aunt Amy and Uncle Taylor decorated a house also. Erica did the front, Kim did a side, Amy did the back, and Taylor did the other sides roof. We had lots of fun. Oh! and they would of had a tree in the front but Amy ate it. Fun was had by all!!

The Second Day of Christmas

This is what we did... got a new Christmas CD and played it all day long.
It's called "a Celtic Christmas" in memory of our time spent in Ireland.

The First Day of Christmas

This is what we did...went shopping for food for a family in need. then played lazer tag and dinner at Ned's. Learned that Kim is no good at Lazer tag. Taylor is the bomb. And dad is a crandell and we know crandell's win. We all had a fun time. We missed Mal and Jon so when they visit, we'll have to have fun things planned for them.

The Tree is up

It's Wednesday and the tree has light's, ribbon, bows, the star, and gold ball's. I still need to put on the dark red, Now it's Thursday, I realized I didn't have hooks for the red balls so after work I went to walmart and found some. Got home Dad asked me to drive with him to Doug's, now it's 6:30pm and I still haven't put the balls on the tree. Dad told me the tree was an advent tree where something gets put on each day for 24 day's. I took a picture but don't know how to put it on here yet. One of you kid's needs to come over and put it on for me. Anyway, Mal called today and she and Jon will be here a day early. YEA! The 12 days of Crandell Christmas start on Saturday we will be going on an activity at 3pm, just wear jeans nothing fancy. I hope to post each of our 12 days of Christmas and what we do and get. This post is very random, It doesn't need to make since.

Football is over for Red Mt.

Last night we went to Gilbert High School to see Red Mountain and Hamilton play in the semi-finals. Red Mt played hard but we lost. 50 something to 28. at least we got some points on the board. So no more cold Friday nights, YEA! Taylor isn't playing soccer this year so we even have a break from that.
Today I'm putting the Christmas tree up it's got 12 rows of branches, you know how long it takes to put the thing up, FFOORREEVVEERR (think sandlot when you say the last word) then you have to decorate it. Anyway, life is good and it go's on. Merry Christmas!
